Fear Setting is similar to goal setting. Instead of defining and working on your goals, you get to know and learn to manage your fears:

What are you dreading the most? What do you dream of but are to afraid to start or just do? Fear Setting helps you define what you are afraid of, understand it and the possible consequences that might scare you, and learn to manage it:

We suffer more in imagination than reality. - Seneca

1. Define your fears. Write everything down that could happen.

Don’t think too long, just start writing. Vomit on the page. Aim for quantity, not quality. Don’t edit. The more you put on paper, the better. Try to find at least 10-15 points.

2. Now figure out preventative measures for every bullet point. What can you do so xxx does not happen?

3. Next, write down how you would repair the situation if xxx actually does happen. What would you do to get back to where you started?

What could happen if I …

4. Now the most important part: What good could come from pushing through, facing your fear and just do what you’ve dreamt of? Which positive changes do you see? How do you feel? Who are you now? Write it down and feel it.

5. Last but not least, look at opportunity cost: Where are you mentally, physically and financially if you do not do anything? You let your fear win and don’t change a thing, don’t chase your dream. How will that impact you in the next 6 months, a year or three years?

Our fears are sometimes justified, but we suffer way more in imagination than in reality. Don’t let your fears stop you from chasing your dreams!

Do you have a current issue where your fear is blocking you? Do you have a decision to make and need a sparring partner before you feel ready for your next step?

I can help you with that. The first step is always a conversation. So let us have one:

Let's address your questions in a 15-minute conversation and determine whether and how we can work together.

I look forward to hearing from you!
